Haha, I figured it was going to be really long. I plan on beating DQVIII as fast as possible. That is the game I'm playing right now actually. So is DQVIII naturally that long, or did you spend a lot of time looking for Mini Medals, and or leveling, etc? Once I get done with DQVIII, straight onto SMT:Nocturne, then Persona 3: FES, then Persona 4, and finally, Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2. My life is going to basically be spent playing RPGs this summer, unless I find a job to take up some of that time.

I actually did very little grinding in Dragon Quest VIII. I did do a lot of exploring though, looking for mini medals, treasure, monsters, etc. Probably leveled up naturally that way. I gotta say though, don't try to rush your way through. I think any time you try to rush play a game, you run the risk of missing out on some quality stuff.

I gotta say you have an ambitious plate ahead of you for just summer. This is what it took me to get through those games you mentioned:

Nocturne: 80 hours
Digital Devil Saga: 50 hours
Digital Devil Saga 2: 30 hours
Persona 3: 80 hours + 30 hours for the FES only stuff
Persona 4: 80 hours

Good luck getting through all that.

Well, you are right there. I don't want to rush through DQVIII because I got through DQIV in a week and it felt like it went by too fast. Maybe getting through all those games is a bit too ambitious for one summer, but school takes up quite a bit of time so I can't play those games during the school year. I don't have much else to do besides exercise and hang out with friends, so what better time than try and beat some games that have been collecting dust on my shelf. Thanks Tim.

It only took me 30-35. I've done that to a game in a week. Course I didn't do much else.

I used plasmids mostly as support and let my guns do the heavy lifting. I also know the wrench can be a deadly asset for a long time if you use the right tonics. Really its kind of up to what works best for you.

If you have the camera make sure you're taking pictures of everything though. All the bonuses you get from the photography are incredibly valuable.

For Bioshock, there really is no best way to do it. You'll experiment with plasmids as you go along, and you can use them more than you guns or not. As much as I've played this game, I have yet to run into anyone that plays the same strategy that I do for the game. It's really good in that aspect. Oh, don't let anyone tell you otherwise, you can kill the Big Daddies easier than others say.

Can't stress how important that is. I had a hard time because I took few pics, especially early on.

To add to this, make you sure you are taking as many pictures as possible of each target until you no longer get a bonus. Film is easy to come by, and you'll get 2-3 times as much research progress this way.

On top of all that - you get achievements! I am only missing two achievements in Bioshock (Complete game on hardest difficulty and do it without vita-chambers) neither of which I will ever get.

I finally made good on a commitment I made about 10 years ago on Friday when I walked out of Best Buy with my very own copy of Starcraft. My previous hundreds of hours put into the game were all on my brothers license but now I finally have my own to play around on in the run up to Starcraft 2. Anyone up for some Battle.net?

Saturday morning I decided to pay a visit to the Game Craze in the back of the infamous Walden Ave Super Flea and walked out with one of my 'white whales', a game I have been pursuing for about 10 years: Herzog Zwei for Genesis. Obviously I realize I could have gotten the game off of eBay anytime I wanted and its not even a super expensive game but I've always had an eye out for it after seeing it on several 'Top 100' game lists. Saturday was the first time I ever saw the game in person and I happily walked away with it. Missing the manual but it was only $20. Unfortunately because it was missing the manual I had NO idea what I was doing when I turned the game on. Its some sort of action-strategy game hybrid where you're a plane that turns into a robot. Guess I'm gonna have to GameFAQ some instructions.

Also got Strikers 1945 for PS1 for only $10. Another shooter for the collection.

These aren't as hard as they sound. You have to survive long enough to buy it, but liberal use of the Target Dummy plasmid can keep you safe and get Splicers/Turrets to target Big Daddies for you. Just make sure that you specifically turn off the vita-chambers in the menu screen (which might only be available after downloading the free DLC update)
