I finished Ghost Story, the most recent Dresden Files novel, last night. Think next on my list is Bobby's book, Newsgames.

I'm still working my way through those Raymond Chandler/Library of America books, but I also bought two books yesterday, "Kakfa on The Shore" (people have told me I'd like it), and "True Grit."

He passed away over the weekend.

I'm very, very sad. I remember reading Martin The Warrior and Redwall back in High School, and picked up nearly a dozen others over the years. His 22nd book in the series will come out posthumously in May.

Holy shit, I didn't know this until randomly stumbling through the back pages of this thread RIGHT NOW.

I read the absolute SHIT out of the Redwall series in my younger days. I stopped reading when Legend of Luke came out because I was a bit over saturated on the series at the time but before that I read those books ad nauseum. Redwall and Mossflower in particular. So good. Maybe I should finally go back after I finish what I'm reading now.

Speaking of which, I've been working through A Song of Ice and Fire since the first season of Game of Thrones ended. I finished A Clash of Kings earlier this week and just started A Storm of Swords. I am so hyped for the second season now its not even funny.

I got World War Z and The Zombie Survival Guide, both my Max Brooks. Which should I read first?

Survival Guide first. It helps give WWZ a framework regarding the virus Solanum and such.

I cannot recommend ZSG, at all. I found it tedious and formulaic, and most of all not entertaining. It was pretty much just chapter after chapter of "well in movies zombies do this, but in REALITY they do this!". In fact, I think I can trace the earliest instances of zombies being entirely played out for me to this book. I hear WWZ is better, but I haven't been willing to give it a shot yet.

Agreed, Mr. Ekkebus!!!!!!!!!

I'm reading a book called "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society". I wouldn't necessarily recommend it...unless you like girly books...or are bored. I've been working on it all summer. Someone suggest a great read! Better written than HP but something that doesn't take 4 pages to describe a tree like LOTR.

Whoever does so shall be rewarded greatly.

Might as well skip "Feast for Crows". 1,000 pages of depressing boredom.

I'm reading "The Destiny Dice" for the second time as well as Sinbad's Guide to Life (Because I know Everything). Remember Sinbad?

Finished "True Grit", and found myself laughing at certain points in spite of having seen both movies a couple of times. I'm thinking I should read some more by this Charles Portis cat. Any suggestions?

Just bought the first in The Horus Heresy series of Warhammer novels the other day after hearing Vinny from Giant Bomb give the series very high praise over the last few weeks and i've always wanted to read more Warhammer fiction. Also Mr Nondo X just bought me to Dead Island novelisation as a thanks for a favour, so i'll be reading through that after i've finished the game.

I didn't realise Bobby had a hand in writing that? I'll be buying that then.

Reading John McCarthy's new biography Let's Get It On!. It is a damn good read and good insight into the history of MMA as well as a good companion to Total MMA.
