Ryan Bingham's "Dylan's Hard Rain." This is the guy who won an Oscar for "The Weary Kind" in "Crazy Heart."

I've really been digging his stuff lately.

Gaslight Anthem's new single, "American Slang" has been good stuff, too.

I've been gearing myself up for the forthcoming Slayer gig by listening to them constantly. the original gig was Nov 18th 2009 but Tom Araya did his back in, forcing a rescedule. Also in about 3 weeks i'm going to Donington Park again for Download Festival. with many awesome bands including AC/DC, Rage Against the Machine, Megadeth, Suicidal Tendancies, and LAMB OF FUCKING GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!

I've been jamming on the No More Heroes soundtrack and some Weapon X, which I cannot get enough of. Overture and Effigy fucking changed my life when I heard it.

I've been catching up on Springsteen bootlegs while checking out new (to me) groups like Local Natives and The Morning Benders.

Oh hey, Local Natives. I bought their EP after they opened for Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes last year.

I've been listening to a lot of Florence + the Machine alongside other stuff.

Some of the Grateful Dead's neglected live albums (like the much-hated "Steal Your Face"), some compilations of The Animals and The Yardbirds, and a good deal of Robert Schumann (because my friend just published a book on him).

Sick Puppies. Tri-Polar. Because Mississippi has curb-stomped my heart. They're throwing a huge concert at the coliseum with a dozen bands, including Sick Puppies. The down side is the other bands are Limp Bizkit, Aaron Lewis of Staind (just him, not the talented members of the band), Buckcherry and Trapt. I'm not paying $80 for that.
Suffer with me, will you?

Midnight Syndicate. These folks are great at ambient music. I use their tunes for RPG mood music.

"Rainbow Connection". This song is so beautiful. I'm misty-eyed right now after having just listened to it. Someday we'll find it. The rainbow connection. The lovers, the dreamers, and me.

I'm listening to Peter Coffin parodies of Lady Gaga tunes. He writes original songs too, but if you hate autotune, his music will not be for you.

I've been listening to this list of songs that consists of songs I frequently listened to on Youtube, but never had on my Ipod until recently. I used a video to mp3 converter website somewhere, which means I have an epic play list of music to exercise to now. I made sure to include the boss battle music from Dragon Quest VIII because it is one of my favorite boss battle themes.
