If we get do get a Vanquish LE it'll probably be completely different. Limited Editions are put together by the regional marketing departments and thus vary wildly between NA, EU and JA.

I thought the animation was really good.

My summary of the rest of the demo:

"GET OUTTA MY WAY!"
"GET OUTTA MY WAY!"
"GET OUTTA MY WAY!"
"GET OUTTA MY WAY!"
"GET OUTTA MY WAY!"

big explosion.
"It is." -Juese

Another demo is on the way, at least in Japan. This one is meant to show off some more advanced gameplay. It'll either sate me for a while longer or make it extra hard not to pick it up immediately.

I also remembered that PS3s have no region lock which means that Euro LE could be fair game.

Please god let us get the second demo. I'm able to plow through the current demo stage in less than 7 minutes at this point. Daddy needs another Vanquish fix.

So I made myself one of them there Japanese Live accounts just so I could download this demo, and it was worth it. It's not an actual stage which was somewhat disappointing. Instead we get a survival style challenge mode where you duke it out in an arena for as long as you can while the game throws harder and harder waves of enemies at you. This turned out to be rather addicting, and you get a peak at a handful of brand new weapons that were not available in the first demo. The disc gun and life gun are bad fucking ass.

A fortunate byproduct of making a Japanese account was getting to download the Enslaved demo as well. I was more than pleasantly surprised with that, and I'm definitely looking forward to its up and coming release. So many good games...too many good games...

Game Informer reviewed Vanquish and gave it a 7.5. they said the game was less than four hours long, and the zero gravity stage is extremely short.

Game Informer isn't exactly my most trusted source of editorial but if the game is less than 4 hours long...eek.

I'm actually quite pleased with the 4 hour length(especially considering I crushed the new Medal of Honor and MW2 in LESS time). This game is clearly more shmup turned third person shooter than Gears of War, and while you may run through the "campaign" in 4 hours, there's a lot of replay value to be had here for the right people. I replayed the crap out of that demo for a better score and completion time, and I will do the same with the rest of the game. I'm confident that the levels and boss fights will be strong and unique enough to keep me coming back for more just like any good shmup.

I hope.

The game doesn't need to be longer than 4 hours to be good, just for me to pay $60 for it.

platinum games tweets that the four hour game claim is not true.
