Judging from some things I observed, if you need some hot guitar licks/playing whatever let me know. Ya know, Bill and Ted stuff.

For the record, I've seen & own both Silent Horror and Operation: Snake. Both of those impressed me deeply for the fan-jokes done right & level of production overall. I think Sidequest could prove significantly more challenging since many many RPG fanmovies already exist in some form on the web.

As one example, could you guys compare your approach to, say, that of the College Saga stuff I just found on YouTube. They seem to be very faithful to the Square style of design (visually & in their audio), they get alot right and inject their own sense of humor to boot. What will X-Strike bring to the table?

Ah, thanks for the post Gretyl. That was pretty funny, and a lot better than what I've seen lately.

I think what is going to set Sidequest apart is that it is a fantasy movie that follows the RPG rules, cliches, references, etc. This link reminded me a bit of the first draft, which was set in present times. It proves fun for certain jokes, but I felt it lost a lot of the fantasy and epic pull that way. Also, as opposed to pretty much every fan project I've seen online, there's a story. And a pretty detailed one, with lots of characters. Nothing against the quick jokes, but since the movie is full-length, it's gonna take on a grander scale.

Thanks for the question, and it probably will be better answered by the fans than the crew once it is finished. There is no question that this is a hard movie, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the hardest movie we've done. But I think you'll appreciate the effort.

Science teacher weak against English. Funny shit.

Holy exploding halogens! I always wondered when those WNYF bulbs would blow up in somebody's face, after all the times I jokingly rubbed my greasy, post-lunch fingers all over them.

Inevitable is an understatement. I'm just glad we were in WNYF so we could replace it toot sweet.

Let the hate posting begin!

Well, let me say that I'm glad that quality was the driving reason behind cancing this project. (At least that's the impression I get)

I hope this doesn't mean that X-Strike will never consider doing an RPG movie. I think the potential is there, but the resources are not. I'm very sad to see it go. This one looked like a lot of fun. Especially with the way the blogs were building it up. But thank you for not churning out crap and expecting it to be carried on reputation of previous installments alone *coughXMen3cough*

I look forward to this documetnary because it has a lot of potential to be a learning tool for indie film makers in general. The internet has given rise to a lot of budding film makers and this doc has the potential to gain a new following of viewers. I mean even aside from the making of aspects there is a lot to be said about the marketing work that went into it. The fan support, the actors... wow, there's a lot to this.

In short, I am bummed, but understand the decision. I will say that this only hieghtens my eagerness to now see the doc. So let's not take another 3 year jerk around to see this one.

P.S. Juese, I know it will be hard, but try to keep the doc somber and informative. No excessive laughing or pop culture references.

this is a damn shame really. the blogs actually gave me a sense that things were going rather well, and the promise of an x-strike take on the rpg genre had me excited as ever....but alas, i guess it just wasn't meant to be(for now). what i can say however, is that i truly respect those at x-strike for knowing when to pull the plug on a project when they feel that it just isn't up to snuff for the fans...and i also give a lot of props for allowing the fans to see what you guys had gotten down on film as a consolation to the whole ordeal. it truly saddens me that sidequest is getting put on hold indefinitely, but the situation is understandable. tackling the rpg genre is definitely a very ambitious project, and i can't wait for you guys to give it another go around when you have the resources to do so.

well, now you guys can focus on resident horror and get that out to us just a teensy bit sooner than you could before. i hope the production of RH goes smoothly and treats you guys well...as always, i can't wait to see it, and whatever else the future of x-strike holds for its fans.

ps, you should sell the documentary + ninja storytime for cheap to tide us over til RH. ahem.

godspeed x-strike
i'll hit your ass and put a dimple!

Ooh... /signed!

In all seriousness it's sad to hear the plug was pulled and I will hope that some day it may still come to fruition but I'll continue to look forward to whatever awesomeness you guys come up with. <3 <3 <3

That's too bad that things didn't turn out. But it's cool that the stuff doesn't waste, so I'll keep my head held high, but not so high that I get a cramp in my neck. :)

Oh man, I was really looking forward to this...still, if it wasn't going to measure up, then that's just the way it is. I'm going to second the documentary + Ninja Story Time package as an item for sale. I'd definitely pick up a copy or two (my sister always wants one of her own...if the X-strikers remember, she's the one with the knitting book you wonderfully defiled).

Oh well, there's still Resident Horror. Despite some of the technical problems, Silent Horror is probably my favorite X-strike movie to date. Take care.
