Tim, bring the mixer to AMA. I can snag some good-quality mics from Main Events. We must pod of cast.

Just listened to the MGX podcast... Rory you sent me down MGS memory lane with that piece of history. Man that was a fun all nighter playing MGS. So friggin awesome.

I can't listen to it from my computer speakers very well, so I just plug in the headphones or use my Shuffle. Thru them it's fine. So I dunno if there's a speakers/headphone thing...? meh. I know nothing.

But I love these. ^_^ You guys are so great.

The more recent "Levelated" editions have sounded much, much better to me. I agree that the overall gain could be cranked up a bit more, but the balance between everyone's voices is a vast improvement over previous editions. Thanks for this.

I have tried the podcast on my laptop speakers & my MP3 player using a Bluetooth headset, external speakers and full headphones and all of them sound quiet for me. It is better these past few episodes though, although still a bit soft.

I might just be deaf from almost 20 years of listening to metal music though.

What decibel range are you recording/mastering at? I've found the -3 (yellow range) is the best set.

Everything sounds top tits to me. Then again, I listen to the podcasts in my car, or my 5.1 speakers on Project: XSTRIKE

Imagine the chairs and couches that Rory and I do the Resident Horror blogs from with mics in front of them and you'll have a pretty good picture of what it looks like.

Crack the whip on Ben some more... the Podcast RSS feed is fucked up again. Podcast # 10 link in the RSS feed points to the Vic Tokai episode, and Podcast # 11 isn't showing up at all.

I just ordered the Adventures of Mark Twain. From your discussion, it sounds like a must own and it is something I vaguely remember frim childhood as well. I had a few things I needed to order from Amazon anyway and this bumped me up to free shipping.

Since I ordered it, I actually downloaded it last night without guilt. I watched it today at work & I really dug it. I didn't find it nearly as "not for kids" as you guys did, but the Mysterious Stranger scene was indeed pretty damning of humanity as was the dark half of Twain's talk about how useless people are.
