There was a small bit cut before they entered the woods where Lea has another quick hallucination where she sees a monster where Mark is standing but it was cut, I think because it wasn't shot properly to make sense in the context of the scene.

well...the thing with her, is that she's meant to be incredibly B and cheesy. all of your complaints pretty much lead to the success of her role. it may seem like a copout, but go back and play RE1 and listen to jill's speaking lines. the resemblence is uncanny.
