Jeremy Parish had good things to say about it and that's good enough for me. Also keep in mind its part of the hated roguelike genre that I've recently gone to bed with.

So I raided a different FYE today. This one with an even more ridiculous sale. The rundown:

Xbox:

Sudeki
Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter
Oddworld Strangers Wrath
Total Overdose
KOF Maximum Impact
50 Cent Bulletproof (for Rory <3)
R: Racing Evolution
Rainbow Six 3: Broken Arrow
Quantum Redshift
XIII
Pariah
Samurai Warriors
From Russia With Love
Midway Arcade Classics 3

I realize that these aren't exactly classics but I was surprised to find out when I got home that only a few of them had been totally panned by reviewers when they came out. Oh and I should probably mention that most of them only cost me a buck. The rest cost me two. I was kind of bummed that many of them weren't backwards compatible but I suppose I should spring for a regular old Xbox someday. If not I have them all ready to go on Goozex if the values bump up from 100.

Also:

GBA:
Super Robot Taisen 2
Sigma Star Saga
Mr Driller 2

These were slightly pricier (only slightly) but were actually games I wanted to play.

So in the past two days at FYE I've snagged 29 games for $65.

To contrast that my card was charged $65 for Blazblue yesterday. Heh.
I'm out like the gout.

I went to an FYE yesterday, and didn't see any good sales. Guess I was too late.

So I stopped by FYE again this afternoon to see if there was anything that I had missed. As it turns out, they had put out a bunch more games since last Friday. I think I have a problem. Again, all Xbox:

Spider-man
Spider-man 2
Red Faction II
Genmu Onimusha
Grabbed by Ghoulies
Phantasy Star Online Ep 1 and 2
Tenchu: Return From Darkness
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Max Payne 2
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey

Again, all a buck or two except Dreamfall which was a bit more. And Max Payne 2 which was 45 cents.
I'm out like the gout.

Tim, I'm guessing your FYE addiction is the reason you haven't pulled the trigger on Typing of the Dead yet?

I just recently purchased Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance for the Game Cube for $30. The guy at the Game Stop was a lazy fuck though and just folded the sleeve the disc was in and tucked it in with the manual. I was about to say "You are seriously the most incompetent person I have the misfortune of conducting a transaction with." It wasn't that big of deal, but Game Stop employees can be so lazy sometimes. It really varies from store to store though.

Congrats, Tim. I think you are the first person to pay exactly what all those games are worth.

DrJon, I've seen FE for WAY cheaper than 30 bucks.

I took the boys' advice and queued up World Ends With You on Goozex, and was matched up within the hour.
This is exciting, since it's the first new game I've bought in months!

Actually, no. Lauren was looking at getting some stuff but hasn't gotten her list to you yet apparently.

Congratulations on that Tim. I was kicking myself when I realized I overlooked Typing of the Dead on the lists.

Tim is lucky. I actually had two copies. Tim spoke for one, Brendan spoke for the other, but that "other" one was apparently stolen or lost. Sucks.

i was in gamestop today, preordering more games....
Fallout 3: GOTY Edition (ps3)
Bioshock 2 (ps3)
GTA: Episodes of Liberty City (360)

and before i decided to spend my money on preorders, i asked if they had a NEW copy of Uncharted. the store didnt carry a new copy, but the associate tried to convince me to buy a used copy. it went something like this...

Gamestop Guy: we have it used.
Me: no thanks. i prefer to buy games new.
Gamestop Guy: our policy guarentees the copy will work.
Me: i know... but still. id rather have a new copy.
Gamestop Guy: blu-ray discs are very durable. i doubt there will even be any scratches.
Me: i know... i just prefer to buy games new.
Gamestop Guy: ...but why?
Me: well... it's just that... developers don't get any of the money... if you buy 'em used.

DUN DUN DUUUUNNNN!!!!
all the employees in the store stoped what they were doing and starred at me as i said this. it was as if i had uttered pure unadulterated blasphemy. the topic was quickly changed to preorders. lol

Ah yes, the employees certainly were thrown off by your inside knowledge, Jaekwon. Shocked they were, that you were hip to the concept that Gamestop can not make money off a new game. I still implore all of you, to not pre-order games at Gamestop, because they don't deserve your business or hard-earned money. They do make money off your pre-order. Employees are trained to push a used game above all else, and it sounds like that clerk did everything but beg you to buy it used. Good job holding your ground, though.

I hope everyone finds some good alternatives, and supports other businesses, instead.

Well they aren't a single entity like Gamestop is so the stores are different from one another. Some people find that annoying while others like us for it.
