I'm not sure if this thread already exists or not, but I figured I would create a thread similar to the segment on the XSSP anyways. Basically, you state what game(s) you are currently playing and what you are doing or your opinions thus far of the game or whatever.
Currently playing:
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga- PS2, SMT: Devil Survivor and Final Fantasy 6
Synopsis of SMT: DDS:
This game is basically the 1970s classic The Warriors, but with demons (Sort of). I say this game is like the Warriors because you are a small band of people who kick ass against all odds and take on the toughest enemies as they are hot on your trail. You play Serph, leader of the smallest tribe called the Embryon, as he engages in battle with the other tribes in a dystopian land called the Junkyard. The warring tribes want to reach Nirvana ("Paradise") atop the Karma Temple, but things become complicated when a mysterious black haired girl shows up and everybody is able transform into demons. The Junkyard becomes a Dog eat Dog world where leaders are killed for their territory, which means their troops are forfeited to whoever kills their leader. Cannibalism becomes new law in the Junkyard and the only way to satiate their indefatigable hunger is to devour their fallen foes. Conquering all the enemy tribes means a ticket to being able to ascend to Nirvana. I'll just end it here without spoiling any game details besides the game is carried out in traditional turn based combat, which is engaged through random encounters. Also, you can build an arsenal of skills by mastering Mantras on the Mantra grid in order to get any skills you desire for any individual party member. I'd personally recommend this to any fan of the SMT games or RPGs for that matter.
Progress in DDS:
I'm in the Svadisthana water way right now and I'm going to work on getting tons of money, which will be going towards mastering a bunch of Mantras. So far, this game has been ridiculously easy besides setting aside a lot of time on Mantras. Thank Clint Eastwood for fucking hunt skills!
As for the other two games, I play Devil Survivor on and off (I'm on day three). As for Final Fantasy 6, I'm on the Floating Continent. I don't need to mention a synopsis of either because most of you have played Final Fantasy 6 and Devil Survivor, well it is relatively new and more well known than DDS, so I just rather preferred talking about DDS to recommend it to people who might like it. I'll keep my future posts more brief too haha.
