Boy that Vanquish demo

sure kicks some fucking ass. Similar to Dead Space I've had little to no interest in this title until close to its release, and now, I couldn't possibly be more sold on it. I know I shouldn't be surprised given it's Shinji Mikami and Platinum Games, but I'm glad they came through either way. It's a shame that the game isn't going to actually sell. And Things are only made worse by releasing it in this wallet raping season. Oh well. Anybody else considering picking this one up?

After 4's reminder Tuesday, I too was taken strongly by this demo. It's still not a day one for me I think unless there's a big incentive with it, just because of the two-fold of it coming out at the worst time AND the likeliness for the price to drop really quickly.

However, yeah, great demo. So much to do, over the top, great animations and aesthetics. Hopefully the writing/characters keep my interest too.

Is this the same guy who not too long ago was hoping Platinum Games would go under?

I only briefly got to play the demo at Juese's last night but I was really impressed. The gameplay felt polished and more importantly it felt distinct from the usual 3rd person shooter fare. Game looks great too. While I'd happily pay $60 for the game to support one of my favorite developers on the planet, its just in such a bad spot, smack in the middle of October, same day as New Vegas. We'll see. If I don't talk myself into buying it day one, it'll be the first thing I get in November.

Pfft, eff New Vegas. Support the sinking ship that is Platinum Games. It's going to sink and land right on top of battleship Clover.

I actually don't see Platinum shutting down anytime soon unless the guys in charge choose to do other things. Unlike Clover, Platinum is an independent entity. SEGA might choose not to extend their publishing deal but I can't imagine there isn't another company out there willing to give Platinum a shot with the talent they have on staff. Remember, sales don't mean everything. If they did I think Grasshopper would have been done years ago.

Also, Vanquish might still do decently. It comes out in a busy month but I think its the highest profile shooter release for October. Could help. Who knows.

I REALLY need to turn that Xbox on and actually play something. I need to see if this demo makes Vanquish worthy of a day 1 purchase or if I can hold off considering how much else I need to buy this fall...

The handling of Bayonetta's special editions doesn't leave me feeling optimistic about this coming to the states, but all hope is not lost...yet.

That said, the price of this edition is SO fair that you should pick up an extra copy out of guilt you're getting it so cheap! And then send it to me.

You're right it is cheap. Games usually come out at £40-£50 this is only £55, I'd have paid £40 for it anyway, might as well pay the extra for a sweet statuette and gazes of jealousy lol
