A benefit of being up this evening/morning was catching the EA pre-TGS conference on uStream. The star of the show of course was the Suda + Shinji Mikami + Akira Yamanaoka game,Shadows of the Damned.

The best part of the conference was hearing Suda excitedly describing the game, and whenever he'd say the title would cheese it up like he was Bela Legosi. Shadows.....OF THE DAMNED! I could feel how much fun he was having with the game, and that was a really good sign.

Damn. I just made a TGS thread pretty much for this game alone. I'm excited, though still a bit disappointed that the game transitioned from psychological horror to action horror. But hey, it's fuckin Suda, Mikami, and Yamaoka with EA's wallet behind them. You just can't go wrong there.

My thoughts exactly. I was hoping it would be more Silent Hill meets Killer 7 though. Still, I think we'll all have a hell of a good time with...SHADOWS...of zah Damned..Damned..Or DMD as Suda wants us to call it.

After watching the trailer, I got a very Ninja-Gaiden / Devil May Cry feel... moreso than the Devil May Cry game that's in the other thread.

Looks silly... I was expecting something different.

How could you not want to work with this guy? I'm glad to hear that while elements of Kurayami made their way into DMD, it's still its own IP. Hopefully we get to see Suda's slow burn horror sooner than later.

Yeah, definitely liked this trailer. The Yamaoka bayou twang at the beginning alone was pretty darn sweet.

I really can't express how much I love how much they're selling this game on the Suda/Mikami/Yamaoka trio. I mean, with a team like that they should be but its high time we started seeing designers besides Hideo getting that kind of a marquee on their games.
